Public Authority of Manpower Issues Critical Occupational Safety Guidelines for Workers in Kuwait

The Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait has issued an important awareness statement emphasizing the importance of occupational safety procedures for all workers and employers, especially under the current circumstances. This comes as part of the Authority’s ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety, health, and well-being of workers at every worksite across the country.

Workplace safety is not just a regulation — it’s a shared responsibility. PAM urges both employers and employees to take these safety guidelines seriously to protect lives, property, and ensure rapid emergency response when necessary.

Key Safety Instructions for Employers and Workers

To safeguard everyone on-site, the Authority calls for strict adherence to the following procedures:

  1. Immediate Response to Warnings:
Workers must stop all work immediately upon hearing sirens or official alerts if there is any apparent danger. High-risk areas, such as energy facilities or vital infrastructure, require coordination with Civil Defense and strict compliance with all instructions.
  2. Evacuation Procedures:
Approved evacuation plans must be implemented without hesitation. Workers should follow designated routes and proceed to assembly points or shelters as per each site’s emergency plan.
  3. Use of Emergency Exits Only:
Elevators must never be used during evacuation. Emergency exits and staircases are the safest routes.
  4. Stay in Communication:
Workers and employers must maintain communication with relevant authorities and follow all official instructions during emergencies.
  5. Cooperate with Safety Officers:
Safety officers play a vital role in guiding workers and preventing panic. Full cooperation is essential to ensure everyone’s safety.
  6. Employer Responsibilities:
Employers should regularly review and update emergency plans, ensure all warning systems are fully operational, and raise worker awareness through periodic drills and training.

Why Compliance Matters

Following these safety instructions is not optional — it is a national duty and reflects professional awareness, social responsibility, and commitment to protecting lives. Ensuring compliance can save lives, minimize property damage, and prepare workforces for rapid response in critical situations.

Occupational safety is a continuous effort. By adhering to these guidelines, Kuwait’s workforce can remain safe, organized, and ready to respond to any emergency.
