This year new year 2024 may get 4 consecutive days of leave for government agencies as the Civil Service Commission Kuwait is considering to announce 31st December Sunday as a ‘rest’ day. The New Year 1st January 2024 is an official holiday which falls on Monday.

Since 31st December is a Sunday, which falls in-between an official holiday and a rest day, the Civil Service Commission, Kuwait is considering to make it as a rest day, local Arabic Media Al-Anba said.

29th December Friday is a government holiday,
30th December Saturday is rest day.

31st December Sunday is rest day ?

1st January 2024 Monday is again a Public Holiday.

Earlier, the Civil Service Commission used to give rest day for any working days which comes between two holidays. In the year 2017, the civil service commission, Kuwait considered Sunday, December 31, 2017, as a day of rest as it was in between two holidays – Saturday, December 30 and Monday, January 1, 2018, the daily reported.
