Oman National Transport Company “MWASALAT” was founded in 1972. The main goal of the establishment was to provide transportation services to schools’ students within Muscat Governorate. In June 1975, it started to operate the public transport services. Additionally, it was awarded the concession for providing the public transport services to all parts of the Sultanate of Oman by Royal Decree (84/59) in the 5th of July 1984. Moreover, it is deemed as permanent member of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP) and the leading public transport company in the Middle East. In November 2015, the company launched its new identity “MWASALAT”. Nowadays, MWASALAT – Bus Operations covers number of main routes and maintain the economic value of the Sultanate.
