Kuwait Residency renewal Online, iiQ8News   Expatriate can now submit residency renewal application online In a major step towards the complete online renewal of residency permit, expatriates can now submit the residency renewal form online. The Ministry of Interior has opened a new service on its website where an expatriate or the representative of the company (mandoub) where he works, can fill out the form for renewing residency or obtain a visit permit online. This will avoid submitting the printed application at the residency renewal department. The new online service includes filling in all the data and verifying them and then obtaining a receipt. Expatriates can submit the receipt at the residence departments to complete the rest of the procedures manually related to renewing the residency or obtaining a visit permit. 4 Days holiday for New Year 2020, iiQ8News   It is official: Four days holiday declared for New Year The Civil Service commission, Kuwait  today officially declared that both Wednesday January 1st and Thursday January 2nd will be official holiday for New Year. The work will resume on Sunday January 5th. Civil Service Commission CSC today issued a circular in this regard. This will give four consecutive holidays for all the Governmental organisations for this New Year 2020.

Kuwait Government targets to appoint 10,000 citizens in private sector December 18, 2019 Government is targeting to appoint 10,000 number of citizens for appointment in the private sector during the next two years. A decision in this regard will be issued at the start of the new year, Finance Minister and Acting State Minister for Economic Affairs Mariam Al-Aqeel said. The manpower authority’s vision towards increasing the percentage of citizens employed in the private sector is according to law 19/2000, whose article 9 authorized the Council of Ministers to decide such percentages and commit non-government entities to comply with them, she added. Authority has studied the needs of the marketplace and education graduates, and then proposes the percentage that must be implemented. Employees can en-cash 180 days leave during service Minister of Finance, Dr Nayef al-Hajraf will soon issue a decision that will allow the employees to encash 180 days of annual leave in accordance with the comprehensive salary. MP Khalil Al-Saleh in a statement to the Parliament media office said that he coordinated with the Minister of Finance and reached a positive agreement to amend the Civil Service Law to address this issue and give the employees the right to cash the leave. The current law provides a cash allowance for the employee’s leave only at the time of retirement, but the decision will allow the employees to benefit from it during service. This amendment is a victory for the rights of employees, by giving them the right to exchange their leave for cash allowance without the need to wait for retirement, but with certain conditions, as it reduces the burden on citizens.

New fees for sick leaves and certificates from MoH, Kuwait, iiQ8News Tuesday, September 24, 2019 The health ministry has implemented a new fee scheme that includes a KD 2 fee for authentication of sick leaves issued by the private sector. The new fees are for services offered by the medical council to expats, including KD 20 for medical examination for those applying to work in the public and private sectors; KD 5 for medical examination for those seeking disability aid and age estimation; KD 10 for “medically unfit”, “to whom it may concern” and proportion of disability due to injury certificates; and KD 5 to approve sick leaves issued by non-government doctors inside or outside Kuwait. The health ministry also imposed fees for approving advertisements - KD 50 for three months for licensing ads for health-related products and KD 100 for licensing ads about companies or health facilities. Kuwait advised people to rely on official news; Avoid circulation of fake news The Kuwaiti government has advised citizens and residents to rely on the State official sources to get credible and accurate information, especially on the situation in the region. In a press statement on Wednesday, the Government Spokesman Tareq Al-Mezrem clarified that reliance on the official sources would help avoid circulation of rumors or fake news. In such situations, rumors and fake news were posted and circulated through social networking sites or other media tools, he cautioned. “So, the government urges everyone, without exceptions, to get the accurate information from the official sources, mainly the Kuwait News Agency and the official accounts of the State ministries on social networking sites,” he said. ISRO locates Chandrayaan-2 lander on Moon, but yet to make contact The Indian Space Research Organisation has managed to locate Vikram, the Chandrayaan-2 lander, on Moon's surface a day after losing contact with the craft. However, Isro is yet to establish contact with Vikram; the space agency lost communications with the lander minutes before it was to land on near the south pole of the Moon on Saturday. According to sources, communication with the lander has not yet been established. The lander was located with the help of the Chandrayaan-2 orbiter, which remains safe and is revolving around the Moon. The orbiter managed to shoot a thermal image of the Vikram lander. Some profession cannot get Family Visa even if salary above 500; No problem for Children above 12 year Friday, September 6, 2019 Local authorities clarified that there is no problem for expatriates children above 12 years of age can get dependent visa provided all the required conditions are met. Local Arabic media Al Anba daily reported quoting sources from authority. Authorities also clarified that expatriates in some professions termed as 'Marginal Profession' cannot apply for dependent visa even if their salary is above 500 KD. Visit Visa Authorities clarified that the minimum salary required to apply for a visit visa for wife and children is KD 250, however, the concerned department has a last say in such issues and can issue a visit visa even if the salary of the sponsor is less than 250. No dependent Visa for children above 12 Years Children above 12 year are not eligible to get dependent visa, reported local Arabic daily Al-Jarida. According to Al-Jarida newspaper, the new regulation stipulates that an expatriate children of above 12 years of age are not eligible to get a dependent visa. The Arabic paper also reported that the residence permits of children under dependent visa (son) will not be eligible for renewal once the son is crossed 18 years of age unless they produce proof of that they are registered at one of the local universities. This will inversely affect the families with 12 years and above kids who are planning to join with their husband in Kuwait.
