The Civil Service Commission in Kuwait announced on Tuesday that Thursday, October 21, 2021 will be a public holiday in the public sector to mark the prophet's birthday, replacing the original holiday which falls on Monday, October 18, 2021.

Why Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram were down for 6 hours?
Facebook Inc blamed a “faulty configuration change” for a nearly six-hour outage on Monday that prevented the company’s 3.5 billion users from accessing its social media and messaging services such as WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
The company in a late Monday blog post did not specify who executed the configuration change and whether it was planned.
Several Facebook employees who declined to be named had told Reuters earlier that they believed that the outage was caused by an internal mistake in how internet traffic is routed to its systems.
The failures of internal communication tools and other resources that depend on that same network in order to work compounded the error, the employees said. Security experts have said an inadvertent mistake or sabotage by an insider were both plausible.

No Restrictions for Work Visa and Visit Visa to Kuwait, iiQ8
The ministerial committee on coronavirus emergency decided to waive off restrictions on entry permits into Kuwait for businesses working in the food security sector.
The waivers cover commercial visits and work permits needed for farms, restaurants food industry, bakeries and fishing, the government communication center said in a statement on its Twitter account on Monday 4th October 2021.
Such waivers will be also granted to owners of cattle and sheep and poultry farms, dairy products firms, producers and importers of foodstuffs, food shops, and water and juice bottling companies.

Around 500,000 students on Sunday returned to their classes in public schools across Kuwait after more than a year of closure amid strict measures against the spread of COVID-19.
In-person classes have been suspended in Kuwait since March 2020 with shift to distance learning as part of precautions to curtail the spread of the new coronavirus.
Public schools reopened their gates on Sunday after a vigorous mass inoculation campaign in Kuwait. Local media said that the reopening of schools resulted in traffic congestions in some parts of the country.
Some schools gave away flowers to their students in a gesture of welcome.

The Ministry of Health has initiated actions against the violators of the health requirements and the instructions of the “Shlonak” app for people infected with COVID- 19 virus and those who came in contact with them, as well as the returning passengers, to undergo quarantine.
This has triggered the filing of thousands of complaints in this regard, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to informed sources, the General Department of Investigations at the Ministry of Interior continues to deliberate on thousands of cases brought by the Ministry of Health against citizens and expats who violated the health requirements and the “Shlonak” app’s instructions.
