Entry ban on non-Kuwaitis to continue, iiQ8
- The council of Ministers, in its meeting today (01.04.2021 - Thursday), decided to continue the ban on entry of non-Kuwaitis to the country until further notice.
Ban on entry of foreigners into Kuwait extended
Medical workers and their families are exempted
Kuwait’s Council of Ministers has approved a decision extending the ban on entry of foreigners to the country until further notice, local media reported.
This means foreign nationals will still not be allowed to enter Kuwait with an exception of few categories. Medical workers and their families as well as diplomats and domestic workers will continue to be allowed to enter the country as per the protocol laid out in the previous ruling.
The move comes as part of Kuwait’s measures taken to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has set the working hours for state institutions during the holy month of Ramadan, the work hours shall not exceed four & a half hours, for authorities & entities of a special nature, their holidays will be decided by those responsible for their affairs, taking public interest into consideration, It also mentions public safety requirements, terms, preventive & precautionary measures that must be adhered to by personnel & people seeking services in various departments & sectors.

Kuwait Revises Curfew Hours
The Council of Minister discussed in today's (01.04.2021 - Thursday) meeting to reduce curfew timings & approved timing from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM.
The decision will be implemented from April 8th to April 22, 2021.
During Ramadan, restaurants & cafes delivery timing will be from 7:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
Walking allowed from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM inside the residential areas
Appointments for shopping in co-operatives from 7:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

Facebook-owned WhatsApp has sent an update which indicates the messaging app will no longer work on several Android and Apple phones except the compatible smartphones.
It was stated in the updated FAQ section on WhatsApp’s website that the app would only be compatible with phones running the Android 4.0.3 operating system or newer and iPhones running on iOS 9 or newer.
The iPhone 4 and earlier models including the iPhone 4s will not support the messaging app soon and users will now need an iPhone 5 or later model to use it following the latest update.
The users of iOS 9 will not be able to use WhatsApp as iOS 10 will be required for using the encrypted chat service.
Models 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6, and 6S will need to update their operating system to iOS 10. Moreover, 6S, 6S Plus and the first-generation iPhone SE, are the last to support the latest version of the newly released iOS 14.

Kuwaiti Foreign Affairs Minister Dr Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed Al-Sabah assured Pakistan on Friday that his country would increase the participation of Pakistani skilled workforce in its multiple trades in future.

The 68-year-old Pakistani premier is self-isolating after contracting COVID-19 two days after being vaccinated.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for COVID-19, his office said, just two days after he was vaccinated against the disease.
“At this point, the prime minister’s office can only confirm that the honourable prime minister has tested positive for COVID-19 and has self-isolated, we will release more details in due course,” his office said on Saturday.
Khan, 68, received a shot of the Chinese-produced Sinopharm vaccine on Thursday, as the country battles a third wave of the virus.
Khan has been holding regular and frequent meetings lately, including attending a security conference held in the capital, Islamabad, that was attended by a large number of people.

Recruitment of Filipino domestic workers to resume next week, iiQ8
Employers with previous history of not paying salaries will be barred
Kuwait City: As of March 15, recruitment of domestic workers from the Philippines will resume according to Bassam Al Shammari, a representative of the labour recruitment offices.
Al Shammari stated that the Philippine Union discussed the matter with the recruitment offices in Kuwait and have finalized the new regulations regarding contracts.
He pointed out that any employer that has a history of employment issues or non-commitment to pay salaries will be barred from recruitment.
The decision comes after the Philippines enforced a ban on sending new domestic workers to Kuwait back in January 3, 2020, after a Filipino domestic worker was sexually abused and killed by her employer.
