Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Residence Affairs Major General Talal Marafi said that considering the current situation and with the directives of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anas Khaled Al-Saleh, steps are being taken to renew the residency for those who are outside the country due to the current situation.
According to Al-Rai Arabic newspaper, Sponsors or company Mandoub can visit Public Authority for Manpower to renew the residence of employers of private sector (Article 18) provided they have a valid passport.
It is also possible to renew the residence of a domestic worker, Article (20) if they are outside the country, where the sponsor have to go to the residence affairs department to complete the transaction according to the terms and conditions, Al-Rai daily added.

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health on Thursday reported two more coronavirus cases, bringing the country's total count of confirmed virus cases up to 58.
MoH officials in their daily press briefing said that all the cases are in stable condition except an aged lady who was already suffering from other deceases.
All the saloon, health clubs and cafes in the country are given strict instructions to follow the health procedures to contaminate spread of any virus, Ministry spokesperson Dr. Buthainah Al-Mudhaf, said.

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28:
The number of coronavirus cases (COVID-19) in Kuwait went up to 45 cases after 2 new cases were reported, said the Health Ministry today in a press conference by MOH spokesperson, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad
Undersecretary of Public Health, Buthaina Al-Mudhaf said that cases are being quarantined in hospitals according to treatment protocols stipulated by WHO, affirming that all those infected were in good health and recovering.
Two new cases are those who came from Iran. The government is continuing to follow up on all developments connected with the coronavirus to get better-informed and more ready to face the virus.
All patients are kept in quarantine at a hospital specially designed and equipped for treating such cases as per the relevant world-recognized standards, it said, noting that they are in stable condition.

KUWAIT: The Ministry of Health announced that the preliminary tests conducted for people coming from Mashhad, Iran have resulted in three cases bearing confirmed results of being infected with the emerging coronavirus (COVID19). The Ministry indicated that the first case is for a Kuwaiti citizen who is 53 years old, and the second is for a Saudi citizen who is 61 years old, as the health status of the injured people until now is normal and they did not show any symptoms of the disease, while the third case is a 21 year old, nationality not identified. There is no plan for amnesty for residence law violators this year, local Arabic news paper Al Rai reported. Violators who are caught, will be deported and they will not be allowed to enter Kuwait and other Gulf States for a period of 5 years, report added.
According to report, the authorities are aware that many residence violators escape from their sponsors and work with others, where they earn a lot of money, and then benefit from the grace period and pardon to leave to their countries without paying any financial fine, and return again to Kuwait.
The decisions issued from time to time giving violators enough time to amend their residence status, but some expats prefer deportation in order not to pay any fine, and then return to the country or go to work in another Gulf country.
