What is Alipiri? Tirupati Alipiri Gopura, Adippadi
Alipiri -
This is the first place to be seen on the Alipiri Sopana Marga, the first entrance from Tirupati to Tirumala on foot. Some call it as 'Adippadi'. Padi means step. The part on the bottom of the Audi anti. The part at the bottom of Tirumala hill. The stairwell is located at the foot of Tirumala Hill.
Some people call Alipiri as Adippali. Pulli means Tamarind Tree. The sense of place is that of the anxious tree that appears at the foot. Among the Vaishnava temples, the `Tamarind tree 'is very important. The believers became enlightened under the tree of Tamarind.
Some people describe it as having a small body like Alipiri. The notion that Srivaru is in a subtle form in this place. The temple in Alipiri is the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple. The temple was damaged due to the break up of the roof. The statues crumbled and finally disappeared. The sculptures and paintings of the temple can be seen here.
