Kuwait City, 19th January 2021: Kuwait 6 gold companies suspected of money laundering Government begins audit of their budgets, which have ballooned in last three years. The Kuwaiti government has kept six gold companies under close scrutiny on suspicion of money laundering, after their businesses ballooned in the last three years, local media reported. Official sources told Al Rai newspaper that the Trade Ministry, during its audit of activities, discovered that there were gold companies that recorded a rapid financial rise despite their recent emergence in the sector. The sources pointed out that compared to the traditional expansion in the gold market, the six companies have witnessed a large and illogical jump since their establishment, even in the number of its branches compared to the developments of similar companies. Kuwait City, 19th January 2021: Q8 Domestic worker recruitment costs set at 990 KD, JobsinQ8 The cost of bringing in domestic workers from abroad is set at a maximum of KD990 dinars through offices and KD390 for domestic workers requested directly by the Kuwaiti employer, after the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) and the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) confirmed in a press release, Al Qabas reported. The obligations of the recruitment office owner are specified, most notably that the recruitment office guarantees the domestic worker will work for a period of six month, during which the office will return the domestic worker to his country and provide a refund to the employer if there is an obstacle preventing the domestic worker from being employed at the home of the sponsor. They affirmed their keenness to reduce the financial burden on citizens and expats, calling on them to report any increase in prices through the Consumer Protection Hotline of MoCI on No. …
